Chapter 46 Andromeda and Bellatrix hadn’t really talked about what had happened now near a year ago, but they had remained very close, almost sensing an end nearing whatever that meant. Nothing drastic had happened in the span of the year, and Andromeda had yet to decide if she should leave or not. At the current moment they were seeing their young cousin Sirius off at platform 9 3/4, he was beginning his first year at Hogwarts, and very happy at that too. Andromeda hugged her cousin who seemed to have grown a bit taller during the summer, “I’ll miss you Sirius,” Sirius tried to get away from his cousins embrace, “Yeah, yeah, I’ll miss you too, Andy. Now let me go, this is embarrassing!” Bellatrix gave him a brief hug, “Give them hell, Sirius!” She winked, and Sirius nodded, “Duh. I’ll finally put the Black’s on the map again!” Sirius saluted them before hopping on the train, his cousins stood on the platform still, waving as the train soon began moving, “Do you think he’ll cause aunt Walburga to have a heart attack by the end of the week?” Andromeda asked as they stood shoulder to shoulder watching the train disappear, “Yup.” Bellatrix nodded, “Mother will finally realise what perfect angels we’ve been.” “At least our backs aren’t getting whipped!” Andromeda huffed, Bellatrix sighed and her eyes turned from the now gone train to her sister. “Anyhow, I have to go, looks like mother and Walburga are making a move. We’re picking out my wedding attire.” Bellatrix said it as if they were picking out her coffin, which was sort of accurate. “Good luck! I have to get back to St Mungo’s.” Andromeda gave her sister a quick hug, “See you later? Or are you…” Andromeda trailed off, they never talked about Bellatrix missions or meetings with the deatheaters. Bellatrix simply cried on her shoulder once in a while, when the anxiety and fear became to much. “No, I’m staying in tonight.” Bellatrix relented, “But you? - Much later?” Bellatrix asked, “I’m seeing some friends after work, we’re having a drink.” Andromeda replied, “Cover for me, will you?” “Always!” Bellatrix smiled before she set off after their mother and aunt whom had seen Narcissa off. Andromeda breathed a sigh, it still felt weird not returning to Hogwarts, but in another sense, she was getting used to her new work environment at the hospital. Only a year of training left before she was a fully trained Healer. She couldn’t wait. Thankfully they had abandoned the lecture room and where now schooled in St Mungo’s with the help of practical work. As soon as she arrived she was directed to an examination room where she was given easy patients to examine and cure on her own. Andromeda looked over her potions supply and studied the textbook when there was a knock on the door, “A patient for you, Miss Black.” Sara called out, and Andromeda looked up from her text book to see who her patient was, she smiled. “Ted. For the love of merlin, you have to stop pretending to be injured. They will start suspecting us.” Ted gave her a sheepish smile as he closed the door behind him, “I am injured, it seems my heart has been stolen it’s been gone two years now,” Andromeda smacked his arm, “That’s so cheesy, even for you!” “Now that hurt!” Ted said, and she shook her head at him before she kissed him softly, “Are you feeling better now?” Ted opened his eyes slightly disappointed she had stopped, “Actually I think my heart is beating a little fast.” Andromeda smirked, “Is that so?” Ted nodded, “Yes, healer.” Andromeda made a grimace at him, before kissing him again, “Ted, you have to go now. Seriously, we can’t risk it. I can’t see you tonight, but I’ll write, okay?” Ted nodded and kissed her quickly on the forehead, “Got it, I’ll let you work then,” He teased, and she shook her head at him, “Leave.” She pointed at the door and he laughed before leaving her to her work again. Andromeda sat down, feeling slightly flushed, merlin did she love that man or what? She did not however love her next patient; An old sexist wizard with ulcers covering his whole body. “I bought a necklace that was supposed to give protection,” He complained as some of the ulcers exploded and let out a sticky yellow substance. Andromeda resisted a groan and pulled down a mouth protector before she picked up her wand and got to it. It was going to be a long day of work. Chapter 47 It was a warm autumn night late in the month of September and Andromeda had managed to sneak away with Ted after her work at St Mungo’s. After all she was nineteen years old and of age, however it didn’t stop her parents from controlling most assets of her life. It had taken a lot of persuasion to have them allow her to study and not marry directly after school ended. But here they were in Hogsmeade, because it was less likely that they’d bump into someone who’d tell on them. Andromeda were a bit paranoid but also excited, they’d never been out before. They had only ever met alone in secret places. “Ted are you sure we should do this?” Andromeda asked for the third time that night, he smiled and ran his hand over her arm gently, “Of course, no one will recognise us here!” Andromeda frowned small but shrugged it off and grinned, “I feel so… liberated, and bad. I’ve lied about my whereabouts, but I am dead meat if they find out who I’m with.” Ted drew her to him and kissed her quickly on her red soft lips, she pouted when he pulled away and he kissed her again, ‘god she’s gorgeous when she pouts’ he thought. She shivered in her thin robes and Ted immediately shrugged off his own coat and draped it over her shoulders, she beamed and thanked him. Ted pulled her to him and they walked close together. When they were passing the shrieking shack, they stopped and eyed the house, recently people had started saying it was haunted. Andromeda looked back at Ted, into his hazel eyes which sparkled from the stars reflected in them, merlin she loved this man from the very depth of her heart and soul. Ted noticed her looking at him and his eyes danced, and his mouth twitched happily, his eyes dropped to her lips and she closed the gap between them. His lips felt so good against hers, she traced his lip with her tongue gently pressing it between his lips, slowly exploring his mouth with her tongue running it over his teeth, he moaned, and she smiled. Andromeda truly loved to please him, his tongue did very much the same thing and by Salazar did she relish in that feeling. This was the best kind of snogging. The starlight only made it better, until… “Andy!?” Sirius voice sounded, and Andromeda jumped three feet away from Ted wiping her mouth quickly. Sirius’s friends were standing beside him in their Gryffindor robes. “Sirius!” Andromeda cried shocked, but then she realised what time it was and that they were only first year students and she scowled at her younger cousin, “What on earth are you doing up and out here at this hour!?” Sirius looked equally shocked at being caught out, he looked quite busted but then grinned madly, “I won’t tell if you don’t tell?” Andromeda’s face went from disapproving to uncertainty to a small smile, “Deal!” Sirius smiled, “Awesome, Dromeda! These are my friends by the way; James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin, we solemnly swear that we’re up to no good.” “Oh, I believe you!” Andromeda smiled and hugged her young cousin, “Good luck with whatever you’re doing, and I promise I won’t tell aunt Walburga!” She winked, and Sirius laughed, “I hope, or I will tell them I saw my cousin snogging a guy, who are you by the way?” Sirius looked at Ted who walked towards them, “Ted Tonks!” He shook Sirius hand and James’s eyes widened, “Ey, you were the captain and keeper of the Hufflepuff team last year!” “That would be me!” Ted ran a hand through his hair, “But you’re the muggleborn then who won them the trophy?” Sirius tilted his head, and Ted nodded, Sirius glanced at his cousin with a wide grin, Andromeda looked haughty. “I am so proud of you Andy! Defying dear old aunt Druella! I’ve never been happier!” Sirius laughed and slapped her arm and she shook her head at him, but then looked serious, “But, Sirius, you cannot ever tell anyone, or I’m dead!” “Promise, my lips are sealed, you too guys, right?” The other young boys nodded happily, “Good.” Andromeda looked pleased, hugged her cousin again, and his friends, “Have a good night, doing whatever you shouldn’t be doing!” “Yeah, have fun getting muggleborn all over you!” Sirius cried over his shoulder, “Mind your cheek young man!” Andromeda cried back. The boys walked a distance and then they heard James talk, “Eh she was well hot!” “That’s my cousin James!” Sirius shrieked terrified, Andromeda and Ted laughed at them before their voices died out in the night. “Sirius seemed as kind and wild as last I saw him,” Ted said as they continued their walk, Andromeda bit her lip smiling, “Well, he is a lot different from the rest, being a Gryffindor and all.” “I bet he’s going to be disowned in the future considering what friends he’s got around him,” Ted contemplated, and Andromeda sighed, “I believe so too, just being sorted in Gryffindor almost drove dear aunt Walburga over the edge and being the troublemaker, he is… and rebellious too. He listens to muggle music now he has told me...” Ted gently squeezed her arm, “He’s going to be fine, Dromeda, don’t worry. I’ll take him in if he gets thrown out.” “We used to say that he would come live with me as soon as I got a place of my own.” Andromeda smiled fondly at the memory. Ted kissed her temple, “You are such a lovely person, you know that Dromeda, right?” “So you’ve told me for the past year, all though I was infuriated with it at first,” She laughed, and he laughed, she felt the rumble from his chest and it relaxed her. “Do you want to get a drink?” Ted asked as they passed the three broomsticks, Andromeda looked sceptical, “We don’t have too if you don’t want…” “No Ted… it is not that. It’s just…” “We might run in to someone,” Ted sighed, and Andromeda looked miserable, “I’m sorry, Ted. I’m sorry for being such a bother,” Ted pulled a curl out of her face, and kissed her nose, “I love you Andy, I’d go through anything to be with you for a few seconds. It’s fine, I understand.” Andromeda ran her hand gently over his cheek line, and through his hair, scraping his skull with her nails gently, smiling, “You are truly the best man I’ve ever known!” She stood on her tip toes and kissed him hungrily on the lips, before pulling away, giving him a sad look, “I have to go, Ted. I’m sorry!” He closed his eyes when she touched his face again, opened them and kissed the inside of her hand, “I’ll count the seconds till we see each other again!” He said, and she laughed, “Stop being such a dead old poet!” He laughed too, and she gave him his coat back and gave him a last chaste kiss before she apparated home. It hurt more each time she left him, knowing all too well that it had to end. She would be married off soon enough. She shuddered at the thought. Andromeda landed outside of the iron gate, being unable to apparate within their manor any longer. It was dark inside, and she managed to slip through the gate without alerting anyone in the house. She breathed a sigh of relief. Softly she trod over the dewy grass and reached the gravel path, Andromeda cursed every step she took because of the sounds, afraid that anyone would wake up and scold her. The door was locked but Andromeda pulled out her wand and whispered ‘alohomora’ with a click the door swung open and she sneaked in. No one had still woken, Andromeda didn’t relax yet however as she started sneaking up the stairs, cringing as the wood creaked under her feet. She was just about to open her bedroom door when she heard someone behind her, “Andy?” Bellatrix looked at her with a smile, “Yes?” Andromeda feigned innocence as she turned to look at her sister. Bellatrix snorted restraining laughter, “Where have you been?” Andromeda muttered under her breath, Bellatrix raised an eyebrow amused, “What was that?” “Fuck.” Andromeda repeated. “Indeed, you are, now, where were you?” Bellatrix asked again clearly entertained by Andromedas panicked face. “I were out with friends, and then I took a breath of air walking, forgot the time and it really does not get more interesting than that.” Andromeda breathed glancing at her sister, “Now if you don’t mind I’m off to bed before either of us gets into trouble.” Andromeda were just about to enter her room and close the door when Bellatrix pushed her inside and closed the door, holding Andromeda tightly, “What’s that?” Bellatrix pointed at the love bite on Andromedas neck, the embarrassment was apparent on Andromedas face, “Fuck,” She mumbled again, and Bellatrix chuckled, “Seriously Andy, if you met Ted and let him bite you a little, I don’t care. I’m glad you’re having a bit of fun.” “You’re not going to tell mother on me?” Andromeda asked desperately, Bellatrix eyes popped, “I’m not stupid, Andy! I wouldn’t have gone through all the struggle for you just to hand you in to the devil itself.” “Thank merlin, I love you Bella!” Andromeda hugged her sister, “No problem, sis.” Bellatrix smiled, “Can I sleep here tonight?” “Yeah, sure!” Andromeda had turned her back and switched into a night gown. They both crawled into bed and chattered on about nonsense until sleep took them.

Pride Potter Haha, tack! Det får vi veta om vi läser vidare Chapter 48 The next morning Andromeda awoke to a scream that might have come from the depth of the hell hole. It was her mother’s screaming that had woken her up, “ANDROMEDA CASSIOPEIA BLACK!” Andromeda opened her eyes and looked towards Bellatrix who just shrugged her shoulders tiredly, “Urgh, it’s probably something about the courtship or whatever.” It didn’t exactly motivate Andromeda out of bed, but she’d rather walk down of her own will than have her mother levitate her down. Therefore, she quickly tied a morning-robe around her waist and hurried down the stairs. Her mother was in a right fury and her father looked quite annoyed with her mother but chose to stay behind his Daily prophet rather than interfere. “You called for me mother.” Andromeda said courtly, and her mother stopped to look at her daughter, “There you are. You must stop dawdling!” Andromeda resisted a roll of the eyes and kept the smile plastered on her face, “What did you want from me, mother?” Druella looked slightly confused for a second but then she remembered why she needed her second daughter, “Yes, why have you not told me about Hailey’s wedding? – I looked a proper fool today when your Aunt called for an early visit.” Andromeda seemed a little surprised, “I did not know that it was of interest to you, mother.” Druella gave her a sharp look, “Do not give me that tone, young lady! Now get dressed for the love of merlin.” It was a blessing to be excused from her mother’s presence, so Andromeda climbed the stairs again, and met Bellatrix in her room. “What did she want?” She said as she lifted her head from the pillow, “I just hadn’t told her about Hailey’s upcoming wedding and Aunt Walburga had paid her a visit this morning to relay it to her.” “Oh, way to make a big deal out of nothing,” Bellatrix said with the usual roll of eyes that came with talking about their mother. “Yeah, quite so.” Andromeda nodded, “Anyway, I think I’m going to clean my room.” Bellatrix raised her eyebrows, “Really? Minty could do that for you, you know.” “I know, but um, I don’t trust that elf. She’s too loyal to mother.” Andromeda replied, as she started going about her room. It took a few minutes using her wand, and Bellatrix watched intently, “You’re not cleaning, you’re packing.” Andromeda stopped a book mid-air and it fell with a thump as she turned to look at her sister, “What?” “You’re packing.” Bellatrix said matter-of-factly, “No, I’m cleaning.” Andromeda pressed, her sister shook her head, “I wouldn’t call putting things in your trunk cleaning, I’d call that packing.” “Suit yourself.” Andromeda bit annoyed, but Bellatrix wouldn’t give in, “You’re leaving then?” “I haven’t decided.” Andromeda said shortly trying to end the conversation, “But you’re packing just in case?” “Maybe,” Andromeda admitted, and Bellatrix seemed pleased to have gotten some sort of answer out of her sister. “Good.” It wasn’t till later that afternoon that hell actually broke lose. They had sat down to dinner, just their intimate family, it was cold and awkward, especially without Narcissa present. Andromeda and Bellatrix kept shooting each other glances, trying to communicate thought without speaking it. No one had tried to break the silence until half-way through the main course, when Druella put down her cutlery. “We have decided to make the engagement official tonight, it will be in tomorrows papers.” Both sisters looked up at one another, confusion spreading over their faces, “Forgive me mother, but whose engagement?” Bellatrix asked, and Druella smiled coldly, “Andromeda’s and Evan’s of course.” Andromeda felt as though she had something stuck in her throat, and could only stare, “But I thought we were making my engagement official first.” Bellatrix pressed, and Druella tilted her head, “Well, you have been such a dutiful daughter, we are not worried about you. Andromeda however,” her mother turned to look at her with an icy stare, “She has shamed us by taking up studies, and to put an end to that, she needs to marry sooner.” Andromeda just gaped, “The wedding will take place in a fortnight,” Druella gave her daughter a smirk, “You will end your studies at St Mungo’s tomorrow morning by owl.” “I certainly will not!” Andromeda finally found her voice, and her mother seemed surprised by her outburst, “You have no choice in the matter, dear.” It was sharp and meant to put an end to her protests, but Andromeda only felt spurred by this, “I do have a choice. I am a witch of age!” Druella widened her eyes, clearly surprised by her daughter’s resistance, “You will not get to inherit if you do not follow our orders!” “I already have right to my dowry, I won’t need to inherit.” Andromeda bit harshly, “You will marry Evan and that is final!” Druella had stood up now, wand in hand. “I refuse to marry Evan!” Andromeda raised her wand too, and her father seemed to have finally left his papers on the side, “Andromeda you will do your duty to this family whether you like it or not!” Cygnus voice resonated loudly in the large dining hall. Everyone seemed taken aback with his sudden involvement even the candles flickered wildly, but Druella smiled slyly, “Listen to your father, Andromeda. You have no choice. Now act like an adult and stop this childish nonsense.” Andromeda clenched her fists until the knuckles turned white, she felt as though she was exploding with rage, all the locked in fear and anger finally took its toll on her and released itself, “Listen to me for once, mother.” Andromeda spat the last word whilst eying her mother intensely, “I will not marry Evan, not now, not ever! Over my dead body.” It felt as though the walls were closing in on her and she couldn’t breathe there in the dining hall, she twisted her wand between her fingers impatient, “Calm down, Andromeda or I will give you another turn of the cruciatus curse!” Her mother threatened in a low dangerous tone, and Andromeda gave her a smile even though she felt afraid on the inside, “Guess what? – I won’t keep my calm. Because you’re wrong. I do have a choice, and It was always meant to be Ted.” It felt weird and liberating as she spoke his name aloud, it felt as though the name echoed against the walls, tearing them down, and her mother and father looked incredibly thrown off. “Who’s Ted?” Her father spoke first, and Bellatrix tried to hide a smile, “He’s my boyfriend.” Andromeda claimed boldly, still holding her wand in front of her, ready for the attack, “We do not know any boy named Ted!” Her mother growled, and Andromeda smiled, “No you don’t because he’s a muggleborn.” It rolled of her tongue smoothly. It was a moment Andromeda would remember for the rest of her life, because she couldn’t help but relish in her mother’s horrified expression. At the same time, it was the moment she would remember for the rest of her life because it was at that time she gave them up, or rather they gave her up. “Get out of my house, you, filthy animal!” Druella spoke slowly, and Andromeda who had stood fixed turned around and left for the upstairs, she got her trunk and when she turned she was met with Bellatrix who was a little out of breath from running up the stairs. It was a tearful moment as the two sisters embraced for the last time in a lifetime, they kissed each other’s cheeks, and uttered the last words of affection, “I love you, Bella.” Andromeda felt herself choke up a little, Bellatrix bit her lip, “I love you too, Andy.” It was a whisper, and then as she was about to leave the room, Bellatrix put a hand on her shoulder, “I don’t know if we will ever meet again in this lifetime. But thank you. I wouldn’t be who I am without you. I’m only sorry it had to end this way. But we’ll meet again someday, promise me Andy, no matter what I do - Somewhere over the rainbow when the storm is over!” Andromeda didn’t trust herself with words lest she break down, so she just nodded, before she hurried down the stairs. Cygnus was stood by the door, probably just to keep his wife away from killing her, not because he had any sentimental attachment to his daughter but for the sole reason to keep his wife from ending up in Azkaban. Andromeda stopped before her father one last time, “Goodbye Father.” “You’re no daughter of mine.” He replied coldly and then the door of her childhood home closed in her face and she was shunned and quite without a family.

It had never occurred to Andromeda what she would do after she’d leave, did she impose herself on Ted? – Did he even want her presence? Andromeda shook her head to rid herself of the unwanted doubts. Of course, he wanted her presence, he had wanted her to leave, had he not? - That’s why Andromeda found herself on the street where she was fairly certain Ted lived with his parents. It was raining cats and dogs, and she tried to keep her calm during her search for house number 7. Finally, she found it at the near end of the road she had walked. It looked dimly lit from the outside and she could make out a sort of flashy light that seemed to switch in strength. Could this be the right house? – Andromeda took a deep breath before she braced herself and knocked on the blue door. A blonde plump woman opened the door and looked a bit confused at the sight of Andromeda, “Yes, my dear, what can I help you with?” The woman spoke in a very soft tone, and Andromeda just stood there unable to find her words, her mouth feeling very dry, “I…I… um… I’m not sure I’m at the right house.” Was the only sentence she could get out after a few seconds, the woman tilted her head in a kind gesture, and took pity on the soaking-wet stranger that stood on her doorstep at the late hour, “I’m Mary Tonks-“ Andromeda sighed of relief, then realised how odd it must look to the woman, and quickly found her senses again, “Oh, I’m looking for Ted.” Andromeda twisted uncertainly on the doorstep, Mary looked surprised but then it seemed to dawn upon her, “You’re one of his friends from school then?” Andromeda nodded, chewing her lip nervously, “Yes, I am. Is he home?” However weird Mary might have found her appearing on their doorstep dripping wet and with a large trunk, she didn’t show any of the sort. She kindly let Andromeda into the small hallway, “Ted’s upstairs, I’ll get him, but you must be cold from the rain.” Mary kindly said as she frowned at Andromeda, “I’m fine. I just need to talk to him.” Andromeda said a bit shyly, Mary gave her a small smile before she turned her head up the stairs, “Ted, would you please come down. There’s someone here for you!” “I’ll be down in a second, mum.” It was music to Andromeda’s ears to hear his voice resonate downstairs, and she suddenly felt very aware that she was in his house. Mary however turned calmly back to her, “I forgot to ask your name, dear.” Andromeda’s focus returned to the woman in front of her, “Oh, I’m Andromeda, Andromeda Black.” Mary immediately recognised the name and smiled brightly at the young woman, “You’re that Andromeda Black then?” She said humorously, Andromeda nodded confused, “I think so.” They needn’t make for more formal conversation for Ted bolted down the stairs and looked quite taken aback by whom he was met with, “Dromeda!” Andromeda smiled uncertainly, and Ted found his ways again and embraced her despite her state, “I’m so sorry to impose,” she began but Ted shook his head and kissed the top of her forehead, “Never-“ Mary watched his son proudly, but felt it might be a bit private and therefore left them unattended and joined her husband in the sitting room once more. Ted bowed down and kissed her softly as soon as his mother had left them, “Let’s get you into something warmer,” He murmured, and she nodded, realising she was soaked to the bone. They walked upstairs, and he showed her into his bedroom, which wasn’t very large and most of the room was taken up by his bed and his desk. Ted put her trunk inside the wardrobe which held several Hufflepuff banners on the door, and then pulled a hand through his hair to mask his uncertainty. “This is my room…” He began, and Andromeda nodded, “Yeah. I never thought I’d be here,” Ted smiled at her, “Me neither.” “I left them.” She blurted, and his smile widened to show off his white teeth, “I’d figured as much,” “I didn’t know where to go.” Andromeda wringed her hands, but Ted caught them and placed them around his neck and then kissed her, “You came to the right place.” “I don’t want to impose on your family.” Andromeda murmured against his chest, “Impose? – My mother will be thrilled. Actually, I think she’s kind of relieved. She must have begun to think I was lying about having a girlfriend.” Ted teased, and Andromeda found herself laughing as she always did with him. He truly was her light in the darkness she so often had found herself in. Ted drew circles on her back before once again realising that she was soaking wet from the rain. “Oh, shit. Sorry. I forgot you’re in need of a change of clothing.” Ted’s ears went a little red and Andromeda kissed him fondly, “No worries.” She then produced her wand from her wand-pocket and dried herself up, Ted watched intently, “I forgot you could do that.” Andromeda put away her wand with a smirk, “Been away from the wizarding world so long you forgot you’re a wizard aye?” “I guess I have.” Ted beamed, and then he bowed his head down again and kissed her passionately, warming her still cold lips up. She moaned against his mouth, and he pulled away with a teasing grin and she pouted at him. “That’s not fair.” Andromeda protested but Ted didn’t give in, “Just to be clear… you’ve left your family?” Andromeda frowned, “Yes I thought I’d made that quite clear.” “So, that means I could do that in public?” Ted grinned, and Andromeda chuckled at him, “I wouldn’t do that in public… But I guess you could kiss me chastely in public.” “Oh, of course, got to keep the lady’s reputation pure,” He winked at her and she smacked his arm, “You’re so infuriating sometimes, Ted.” “I know, I can’t wait to have you scold me for the years to come,” Ted laughed, “You won’t be laughing then.” Andromeda smiled, “We’ll see.” Ted said before he kissed her again with vigour, and at that moment Andromeda felt truly happy again.
