Pride Potter Tack!

Chapter 61
Christmas was fast progressing, and whilst Andromeda hadn’t quite grasped the muggle traditions yet, she was very much in the festive spirit. Andromeda were at the current moment lying against Ted on the sofa whilst Fred and Mary were hanging the last few decorations in the tree. They had been drinking a bit of eggnog and pulled a few crackers at dinner hence they all were wearing those flimsy hats you got out of the crackers. Andromeda didn’t quite understand the meaning of the hats, and Mary had tried to explain about some three wise men. Something to do with Christianity, which of course Andromeda knew of, but were not familiar with.
“Ted play us something will you?” Mary asked sweetly from where she was standing, Ted who had absentmindedly been playing with Andromeda’s curls looked up startled,
“Mum, I really don’t want too.”
“Ted, listen to your mother, or she’s going to rattle on about how its tradition.” Fred raised his finger, and Ted sighed, but Andromeda looked at him clearly amused,
“You play?”
“Don’t you dare laugh, Dromeda!” Ted whined, as he accepted the guitar from his mother.
“I’m not!” Andromeda tried, but had to bite her lip very hard not to let any sound out, Ted exhaled and sat upright, positioning the guitar in his knee.
“Play us ‘have yourself a merry little Christmas, Ted. You do it so well.” Mary requested, and Ted ran his fingers over the strings, tuning the guitar slightly, before he cleared his throat, and a little nervously started playing the tune. Andromeda watched him intently the whole time, enjoying the sweet, warm sound of his voice for the duration of the song, Mary, ever so emotional cried, and when he finished, he glanced at Andromeda,
“Well?” He grinned, “How bad was it?”
Andromeda laughed,
“Well, to be honest with you, the playing was shit, but you sing beautifully!”
She leant over and pecked him on the lips, and he received the kiss gracefully,
“Your turn.” Ted teased and Andromeda went from amused to clearly not amused,
“I don’t play guitar, I was only taught classical piano, sorry, Ted!”
Mary clapped her hands together,
“But why don’t you play us a seasonal song on our old piano?”
Andromeda turned to Mary clearly distressed, she hadn’t really taken notice of the piano stood in the corner of the room. Ted gave her a sly smile,
“Oh, yes why don’t you?”
“I suppose.” Andromeda replied with gritted teeth, and Ted knew he was in for trouble later, but felt he didn’t care, this was all too hilarious.
“Go on dear,” Fred pointed towards the piano, and Andromeda stood up nervously, stretching her fingers, feeling her hands go wet with sweat. She sat down in front of the keys, drying her hands on her robe quickly, before placing her fingers on the piano. She hadn’t played for almost three years and didn’t really feel like making a complete fool of herself her first Christmas with Ted. Her heart was racing fast, and she tried to feel the pulse of the beat without distraction of her actual heartbeat.
“Four, five, six,” She mumbled to herself and then she started moving over the keys. She missed a few notes, and slipped on some due to her shaking hands, but she got through the movement and even managed the drills during the second movement. When she was finished, she stood up, quickly removing herself from the instrument, feeling her cheeks burn, but it turned out her worst critic was herself, the other party merely applauded her, and Ted embraced her and kissed her brow,
“You are so talented, Dromeda. Is there anything you can’t do?”
“There are a lot of things I can’t do, Ted. Don’t put me on a pedestal.” Andromeda murmured clearly embarrassed, Fred and Mary however complimented her playing as well.
“Such a talented young woman, truly, Andromeda. We’re so blessed to have you with us this Christmas.” Mary praised, and Andromeda thanked her,
“It’s my pleasure to be here,” She reassured,
“For many more to come, hopefully!” Fred hinted, and she smiled at the man,
“Yes, let’s all hope.”
Ted gave his father a meaningful glare, and Fred laughed at his son and winked at Andromeda who felt a little confused.
“Anyway, we best hop into bed if we want to make it to the morning service tomorrow. Christmas Day is always busy!” Mary announced, and her word was final. The candles were blown out, and all lights but the tree lights were turned off. They all bid each other a good night before they all went to bed.
Andromeda twisted and turned in bed, and Ted put a hand on her shoulder,
“Stop fussing, you have nothing to be nervous off!”
“That’s easy for you to say! I don’t know what I should wear, I hardly know what it is, excepting what you and Mary has been telling me. What if I insult everyone by doing some kind of wrong? What if I sit or stand at the wrong place or say the wrong thing? I could easily embarrass you in front of the whole village!” Andromeda ranted, turning her head, looking at Ted. He however smiled and kissed her shoulder softly,
“You could never embarrass me, Dromeda. And besides, I’ll guide you through it. You’re given an agenda, and if you’re supposed to stand there’s a star marked next to the paragraph.”
Andromeda exhaled slowly,
“You’re sure I’ll do fine?”
“Positive, now, get yourself some sleep, I can’t wait for the gift exchange!” Ted grinned, and Andromeda snickered at him,
“You’re such a child, Ted!”
“I’d proudly skip down the stairs tomorrow morning in my pyjamas without shame!” He said proudly, and she laughed into her pillow at the image.
“That’s why I love you, Ted.”
“I love you too.” He murmured into her ear as he pulled the covers tighter around them, and she smiled as she closed her eyes, falling into the land of dreams to the sound of his steady breathing.

Chapter 62
The following morning Andromeda woke up alone in bed, her anxiety levels immediately rose for reasons she couldn’t account for. May be that she was afraid of being deserted in the end. Andromeda swung her legs over the edge of the bed and took a few deep breaths to try and rid herself of all bad feelings before she rose properly. She bent over and stretched her back and was going to prepare herself with make-up and put on her festive robes, but she noticed Ted’s clothes was still scattered over the chair in the corner and remembered what he had said last night. Andromeda smiled to herself and put away her things and picked up her morning robe and tied it around her waist before leaving the bedroom. The sight that met her in the living-room almost had her in tears. Never before had she been greeted by such warmth during a Christmas morning, not by a whole family. Mary was seated by the old piano playing what Andromeda assumed to be a Christmas carol, Fred was sipping on tea whilst eying his wife with such tenderness it might have melted even the coldest of hearts. Then her eyes went to Ted who was sitting with legs crossed searching through his stocking, she smiled at the sight. Ted noticed someone was staring at him and tore his gaze from the stocking gifts and was met with Andromeda’s heartfelt stare, he grinned at her and jumped up,
“We’ve made you a stocking as well, Dromeda!”
Andromeda felt pleasantly surprised, and Ted hurried towards her with her stocking, embracing her and kissing her softly on the lips. They remained close together with their foreheads pressed against one another,
“Merry Christmas, Andromeda.” He mumbled and pressed a kiss to her forehead dotingly, and she chuckled feeling overwhelmed with love and gratefulness,
“Merry Christmas, Ted - I love you.”
“As I do you,” He purred, before he held up the stocking between them, “You have to open your stocking though!”
Andromeda received the stocking and Ted almost pulled her with him and down in the sofa close to him, she felt a little flustered by this, but his parents were fully occupied with their activities. Ted pinched her thigh teasingly, and she gave him a wide-eyed stare, and he laughed at her before kissing her chastely,
“Come of it, you’re not even in my lap, it’s not improper. I’m not gambling with your reputation.”
Andromeda pushed him playfully,
“Shut up, Ted!”
Fred turned his gaze from his wife and laughed at his son,
“Already in trouble, Ted? She’s not even half past nine!”
Ted rolled his eyes at his father but then he grinned again,
“Open your stocking! Otherwise we can’t get cracking at the other presents!”
Andromeda swatted him over the head with a smirk playing her lips,
“Stop acting five, Ted, a bit of patience at your age is appreciated.”
Mary had stopped playing to indulge in the conversation, and she laughed at them,
“I’m afraid Ted’s a hopeless case! I’ve never known anyone more excited by Christmas morning than him! He was up at five mind you, I found him staring at his stocking around seven. Had to let him to it first otherwise there would be no peace.”
Andromeda’s smile went from cheek to cheek, as she heard what Ted had been up to that morning, all the feelings she had woken up with was gone with the wind and she was thoroughly enjoying herself in their company.
Ted nudged her again and gave her such an impatient look that she finally gave in and dug into her stocking. Andromeda felt paper against her hand and pulled out five bars of Honeyduke’s finest chocolate, she gave Ted a kiss on the cheek,
“Thank you.”
Ted nodded,
“Yes, yes, but go on.”
Andromeda frowned at him and shook her head but nevertheless dug further into the stocking. She was gifted a pair of handknitted socks, a few other small things and two chocolate frogs to which Mary frowned,
“Aren’t those the frogs that jump?”
Andromeda nodded,
“They do, but only once. It’s done by magic.”
“Ted brought one back after his first term and I almost wet myself, I’m terrified of frogs!” Mary snickered, and Andromeda smiled at the woman,
“I promise not to open them here.”
“No matter, darling.” Mary waved her hand, “But oh dear me, we have to get ready for service!”
Ted who had just risen to lay his hands on the presents under the tree, slouched his shoulders and eyed his mother with such disappointment it was mostly comical. Mary gave him a stern glance,
“Don’t you dare try and wriggle yourself out of this!”
Andromeda decided to help Mary out, and therefore put her hand on Ted’s arm to steer him away, but Ted wouldn’t beckon, and Mary sighed.
“Edward Tonks drop that sour mien of yours or…”
“Leave this to me,” Andromeda winked at the woman who closed her mouth. Andromeda pulled out her wand and Fred looked thrilled with amusement, Ted suspected nothing, but it was all too late when he felt the wood against his neck,
“Petrificus Totalus.” The words came flowing out of her mouth and with one smooth gesture Ted fell to the floor in a completely body binding jinx. His parents looked amused and Mary even applauded her work.
“Ah, thank you, Andromeda, now we might make it on time!”
“Do you want me to carry him upstairs?” Fred asked and Andromeda smiled,
“Oh no let’s not break our backs over his stubbornness,”
She moved her wand and his body started levitating,
“We’ll be down in a short while.” Andromeda acknowledged before leaving the room with Ted levitating in front of her.
When he was released of the jinx in the bedroom, he rubbed his head annoyed,
“My head hit the banister four times, Dromeda!”
“Well, next time, don’t be such a baby. The presents will still be there when we get back.” She said matter-of-factly whilst hurrying with her festive robes and make-up, all the while Ted got ready whilst muttering to himself.
They hurried down into the hallway, and all four of them tried putting their coats on in the crammed space and then quick out on the snowy roads to join the rest of the village on their way to church. Andromeda’s heart was pounding with anxiousness and expectation. She took a shaky breath and Ted squeezed her hand a little tighter and gave her a comforting smile,
“It’s going to go just fine.”
They arrived at the old Norman church, and the vicar was stood at the door greeting his congregation – family by family. Andromeda felt as though people stared at her, all the while Mary, Fred, and Ted greeted old friends that had gathered for the season. When they stopped by the door to greet the Vicar, Andromeda felt her hands shake slightly but the old Vicar didn’t flinch at her robes once, he just grabbed her hand affectionately,
“Welcome to our congregation! Mary’s been telling me lovely things about you. Apparently young Ted there is quite smitten with you. Pray, what was your name dear?”
Andromeda who were a bit thrown off by his warming welcome, stuttered a little before smiling at the old man,
“It’s Andromeda.”
“Lovely name, after the galaxy, I assume? Anyway, the que is long and I’m sure you want to get away from the cold snow, all though it’s not very warm in this old building. But I shan’t keep you longer. God bless you!”
Andromeda followed Ted into the church and watched the ornaments and murals with wide-eyes, feeling rather curious at what it all was and meant. Their party was seated in the front row because Mary wanted to make sure Andromeda could see and enjoy the experience. The only reason though the places weren’t already occupied was because the normal villagers didn’t want to be seated at the front, afraid of being asked difficult questions.
Andromeda listened intently through-out the service and was always one step ahead in the agenda she was given, making sure to do everything right. The gospel according to Luke was particularly interesting as it explained why muggles celebrated Christmas. But she was quite at loss as to why they weren’t granted any room but for the stables. Her healer instinct revolted at this, and she couldn’t understand how they could refer a woman in labour to a stable during a cold night.
During something which was called communion, Ted whispered, as they were moving towards the altar, that she needed to put her right hand over her shoulder because she wasn’t christened, whatever that meant. The vicar put the palm of his hand against her head and mumbled something and drew a cross with his hand over her forehead before proceeding handing out wine and bread to the others kneeling. Andromeda was pulled up gently by Ted and they returned to their seats. In all it was quite a nice experience, and all though she understood by half of it, she understood why the church was full to the brim of people, it was quite easy – love. As soon as the last Amen was uttered people rose from theirs seats and left the church. Andromeda was a little reluctant to leave as she wanted to look closer at the mural paintings and wanted to ask questions about the building. Mary and Fred left without them to prepare Christmas lunch. Ted entwined his hand with hers and showed her about the room.
“This is the font which I and all of dads family was christened into.”
Andromeda eyed the ornamental font with great admiration for the work,
“What’s a christening?”
“Your name is announced, and you’re given Christ as a gift, basically.” Ted laughed.
They went about the church for a little while longer, before Ted stopped her before they were headed out,
“Do you want to visit my grandma?”
“Your grandma?” Andromeda asked intrigued, Ted smiled sadly,
“She passed away two years ago, before that she was my rock and light. I was with her most of my time until I was four and started primary school. She was the only one except my parents to know that I was a wizard. Nan was so proud when I made it into the Quidditch team, she hardly understood it but nevertheless, she was so proud. She knitted Hufflepuff quidditch scarfs in the fashion of a normal football scarf. Ah, I loved her dearly.” Ted smiled at the memory of his grandmother and Andromeda looked at him fondly,
“I would have loved to meet her.”
“She’s out there, I’ll show her tombstone.” Ted put her hand in the crook of his arm and lead her outside where the snow was currently falling. He brought her around the church and lead her to a willow tree, under it there was a stone placed and he crouched down and wiped away the snow from the stone. It read ‘In loving memory of Charles Tonks and his beloved wife Cynthia Tonks - Death could not do them apart.’ Ted revived the flower by the tombstone with his wand, making it bloom.
“You know my Grandma always read romantic novels to me. She dearly loved an author by the name of Jane Austen. She always preached the importance of true love and forced me to watch the most tear dripping films. She taught me everything from reading to loving. She was a great spirit who always sought to find the best in people.” Ted told Andromeda who listened feeling her heart grow with warmth for him,
“I bet she’s very proud of you, Ted.”
“She’d be proud even if I ended up penniless.” He laughed, and Andromeda snickered at him,
“That’s a great trait, to see kindness in everyone.”
“Yes, she’s part of who I am today. The most Hufflepuff person to exist without actually being a witch. But she gave me something very important and very valuable before she passed. I promised to give it away at some point in my life. But only if I really meant it.” Ted seemed a little flustered and Andromeda eyed him with kindness,
“Did she really? That’s very kind of her.”
Ted put his hand into his pocket,
“Would you like to see what she gave me?”
Andromeda smiled,
“Of course, I’d love to.”
Ted pulled out a little old box from his pocket, fingering it nervously, before showing her the box. Andromeda who was thought off as one of the brightest witches of her age looked clueless, and Ted was granted a little confidence by this hilarity.
“What is it?” Andromeda asked when he was quiet, Ted grinned and opened the box that revealed a silvering with Victorian ornaments and an emerald stone in the middle,
“It was her ring, an heirloom that she had been given by her grandmother. It’s been in the family for generations.”
“Oh, that’s lovely. She must’ve been very fond of you.” Andromeda said still completely calm eying the ring he was showing her. Ted sighed at her,
“What if you just got me?”
Andromeda frowned,
“What?”
Ted dragged his free hand through his hair nervously, then he exhaled slowly before he knelt on one knee, Andromeda brought a hand to his shoulder before he had time to speak,
“Are you alright, Ted? Feeling faint?”
Ted let out an exasperated sigh,
“No!”
“Are you sure?” Andromeda asked considerate and Ted looked up at her with distress,
“Andromeda, since the day I first kissed you, I knew I never wanted to stop kissing you for the rest of my life. I’ve been in love with you since, well let’s be honest, since the day I first laid my eyes on your beautiful frame. I have never felt this way with anyone else, and I’m not sure I’m saying this right or making this perfect. I’m not as bright as you, Dromeda nor am I William Shakespeare or Jane Austen. But I know one word, one sentence that pretty much sums it all up – I love you. Always have, Always will. It would be my great honour if you would marry me and grow old with me.” Ted spoke quickly but heartfelt and didn’t dare to avert his eyes from her chocolate ones for a second. Andromeda in her turn just looked perplexed, her jaw had dropped, and her eyes were full of tears. Her heart was racing, and she had never felt more love for the man in front of her, he truly was the greatest man there was. When she hadn’t spoken, Ted felt the need to say something afraid he was being rejected,
“Dromeda, what I’m saying is, will you marry me?”
Andromeda was pulled from her trance and she nodded fiercely,
“Yes, yes, of course I will, Ted! – Merlin, Ted I love you, and this is perfect, you’re perfect!” She cried joyfully, and Ted slid the ring easily on her finger before standing up, almost falling to the ground again when Andromeda threw herself in his embrace. They shared a passionate kiss in the snow in front of the memory of the woman, who’s love had taught the man who had just asked the woman in front of him to marry him, what love truly was.
“I love you Ted.” She murmured against his lips, kissing him sweetly, Ted laughed,
“I love you too, my silly, silly goose.”
They stood there in the whirl of the snow, just soaking in the feeling of love, and warmth for each other in that moment. Forgetting about everyone else in the world, seeing only each other. For once in Andromeda’s life the storm truly calmed within her, and she felt truly at peace. As though all the wounds from her childhood started to heal. It was easily the best Christmas day for the both, even though Ted had yet to been allowed to open his presents that were waiting beneath the tree.

“I’m afraid Ted’s a hopeless case! I’ve never known anyone more excited by Christmas morning than him! He was up at five mind you, I found him staring at his stocking around seven. Had to let him to it first otherwise there would be no peace.”

Så fint och stämningsfullt: In all it was quite a nice experience, and all though she understood by half of it, she understood why the church was full to the brim of people, it was quite easy – love.

Och hur de sedan besöker farmodern:

She thought me everything from reading to loving. She was a great spirit who always sought to find the best in people.

Ted dragged his free hand through his hair nervously, then he exhaled slowly before he knelt on one knee, Andromeda brought a hand to his shoulder before he had time to speak,
“Are you alright, Ted? Feeling faint?”

They shared a passionate kiss in the snow in front of the memory of the woman, who’s love had taught the man who had just asked the woman in front of him to marry him, what love truly was.

Chapter 63
They hadn’t returned home immediately but strolled around in the snow, holding hands and kissing, just relishing in the moment. When they did arrive at the door again, Ted had barely touched the door knob when the door flew open. Mary and Fred stood smiling wide in the door frame and Andromeda eyed them with a funny look.
“Well…?” Mary asked grinning looking expectantly at Ted, and Ted sighed at his mother,
“Way to pretend you didn’t know.”
“So, you are…?” Mary smiled at Andromeda who chuckled at the woman,
“Engaged? Yes.”
“Let me see the ring!” Mary went for Andromeda’s hand, and admired the ring on her finger,
“My mothers’ ring looks like it was made for you.” Fred complimented, and Andromeda blushed,
“Thank you, it’s very lovely.”
Mrs Waitrose who was just putting the garbage out was soon called to attention by Mary,
“Imelda! Imelda, my sons engaged!”
“Engaged? Already? Isn’t he five?” She joked, “I remember when he peed in my pool!”
Ted blushed and avoided Andromeda’s amused eyes,
“Yes, yes! Oh, such fun!” Mary cried, “To think, on Christmas day too!”
“Always knew Ted would get himself a lovely wife! My best well wishes!” Mrs Waitrose called back before returning into the warmth of her own house.
“Let’s get you inside, we’ve kept you on the door step for far too long!” Mary hurried Andromeda and Ted inside before Fred shut the door behind them.
They were scuffed into the living-room and when they were sat down in the sofa, Mary smiled,
“Well? How did it happen?”
“I opened the ring box and went down on one knee.” Ted began, and his mother squealed excitedly,
“And then?”
“Andromeda thought I was feeling faint.”
“What?”
“Shut it, Ted.” Andromeda murmured embarrassed, but Ted laughed at her,
“It was terrifying, I thought she was being cold, but she really had no clue I was proposing. She thought I just showed her grandma’s ring.”
“Oh, that’s hilarious! Then what?” Mary pressed, and Ted ran a hand through his hair, focusing his eyes on his fiancée.
“I asked her to marry me.”
“And I said yes.” Andromeda added, and Mary looked truly blissful. She took hold of Andromeda’s hand,
“We’ll have a wedding to plan then!”
Andromeda smiled at the woman,
“Yes we will.”
Fred looked at Ted and shook his head,
“Won’t have any peace in the house till then, will we eh?”
Ted laughed at his father’s horrified expression,
“I think for you more so than me!”
“Mary, before you force poor Andromeda to plan her wedding in an hour, maybe we should have Christmas lunch?” Fred said, he for one was feeling rather starved. Ted eyed his father with some discontent,
“How can you eat dad? We haven’t even opened the gifts yet!”

That same evening, after they’d eaten Christmas dinner, and had their sweets and played a trivia game (which Andromeda lost at since she didn’t know anything about the pop-cultural muggle world) Andromeda and Ted found themselves alone, cuddled up in bed in their new night-wear (a gift from Ted’s mother). Ted took hold of her hand and examined the ring on her finger,
“I can’t believe you said yes.” He said as he absentmindedly ran his thumb over her knuckles, Andromeda smirked,
“You really thought I’d say no? – I left my family for Merlin’s sake!”
Ted snickered quietly,
“Well, I just find it hard to believe that you’re ‘mine’. That you’d chose to be with me over anyone else. I mean you’re Andromeda Black for god’s sake, the brightest and might I say, hottest woman I went to school with. I just never thought this would ever come to be.”
Andromeda shrugged her shoulders,
“I mean Dumbledore’s gay, so I took the second best.”
Ted poked her side and she laughed at the tickle,
“You’re such a tease sometimes!”
“Me!? How dare you! I am the very picture of innocence!” Andromeda put her hand over her heart mock-shocked. Ted rolled his eyes at her,
“I try to be all romantic, but you just play me.”
Andromeda turned sombre, and kissed him quickly on the cheek, stroking his cheek affectionately,
“Sorry, to be honest with you Ted, I think it’s in self-defence. You’ve heard about my family, I’m pretty messed up!” She let out a nervous laugh, and Ted held her to him,
“I’ll help you get mended then!”
“This turned all dark and serious, sorry.” Andromeda smiled up at him, and Ted pressed a kiss to her temple,
“Don’t feel as though you can’t talk to me about such things though, I’m here for you. For better and for worse and all that.”
“Thank you, it means a lot, especially when it comes from you!”
“Now, where would you like to get married, Dromeda?” Ted switched subject as he sensed Andromeda really didn’t want to talk more about her family and issues within there.
“You know, I don’t know. I was always supposed to be married in the ballroom at home. I never ventured anywhere else in my mind.” She smiled, and Ted nodded,
“I’m fine with that, but I don’t think it’s worth us dying for it.”
Andromeda swatted him over the chest with a smirk,
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it!”
Ted stuck his tongue out at her, and she pouted.
“Do you want the ministry to officiate the wedding or get married in church?” Ted asked then, and Andromeda frowned in thought,
“I suppose we should get married in church, it was rather beautiful there, and I know you’d rather there. Besides my family is not going to be there in any case, and yours can’t come if the ministry does it.”
“Thank you. I would never force you to do it. But It means a lot to me.” Ted smiled,
“Besides, I’m thrilled to meet your other family.” Andromeda said excitedly,
“They’re thrilled to meet you too. Most of mum’s family live in Scotland and dad’s brother and cousins have moved to Somerset, that’s why we don’t celebrate Christmas with them anymore.”
“Oh,” Andromeda nodded,
“Anyway, what else do we need to plan for?” Ted asked, and Andromeda thought hard.
“Can I still wear a wedding gown made by Madame Malkin’s? I’d rather not wear muggle dresses, they’re terrible with quality!” Andromeda said after a moment’s thought,
“Course you can. Church doesn’t acquire any special dress code. Except clothes. You can’t come naked.”
Andromeda rolled her eyes at him,
“Oh, yes, because I was definitely thinking I’d strut in with no clothes on, showing of my ugly, scarred back to everyone.”
“Your back isn’t ugly, Dromeda. Scars are just memories, they’re a part of you.” Ted told her kindly, and Andromeda smiled,
“I don’t like them. But anyway, I’ll wear a white wedding gown then, made by Madame Malkin’s.”
“Do you want bridesmaids or…?” Ted asked and Andromeda frowned in thought,
“It doesn’t feel right when I can’t have Bella with me.”
“Oh, I already asked Elizabeth…” Ted said, and Andromeda closed her eyes, feeling the anger rise,
“What!?” She growled, and Ted burst out laughing,
“I’m just joking. I wouldn’t do that to you. But I’m going to ask Charles and George to be my best-men.”
“I might ask Molly then. Because it’ll probably look weird if you have best-men and I don’t have any bridesmaid.”
“Only if you’re comfortable with that.”
“I am.” Andromeda smiled reassuring. “It’s your wedding too, Ted.”
“I’ve also thought about were we’d live. Whereas I love my parents, I feel a bit weird living with them at this stage in life.” Ted started, and Andromeda was all ears.
“Yeah, I agree with you. Somewhere outside of London I’d say.”
“Mm, we could look into it in the next few days.” Ted told her and she nodded her head against his chest, letting out a big yawn,
“Let’s,”
“Tired?” Ted laughed at her, and her mouth twitched up-wards, but her eyes remained closed,
“Mm.”
“I can’t wait till we’re married.” Ted continued, drawing circles on her arm, whilst she barely awake listened to his ramble.
“Me neither.”
“When we have our own house and garden, and eventually lots of children running around.” Ted chuckled a little at the thought but Andromeda who had been close to sleep, tensed and became fully awake within seconds. Guilt welled up within her, and fear for Ted leaving her if she told him about her condition. Andromeda scolded herself, there was no ‘if’, she couldn’t possibly lie to him, Ted didn’t deserve that.
“Ted, there’s something I need to tell you…” Andromeda began and Ted looked down at her with an encouraging smile, but Andromeda sat herself up in the bed, wringing her shaking hands whilst avoiding his hazel eyes.
“Go on then, Dromeda.” He said when Andromeda hadn’t spoken, she took a deep, shaky breath, before steadying herself again.
“What I’m about to say, I mean I didn’t try and keep it from you. I just never thought we’d end up together, and I never really pondered it before I met you…” She trailed off again, feeling rather warm and nervous. Ted took hold of her hand, giving her a look of warmth and love,
“There can be nothing that would upset me more than might be resolved within a minute’s time.”
Andromeda bit her lip before continuing,
“There’s a rather slim chance that I would be able to bear a child. Because of my genes.”
When she had said it, she eyed Ted carefully, and he frowned in thought for a second before giving her the sweetest of kisses,
“I don’t care. I love you. We’ll solve any such problem when the time comes. If we have a baby, then that’s a lovely blessing, but if not, I’ll be more than happy anyway. Don’t feel pressured. I’m not like them.”
Andromeda felt a wave of relief, and as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, Ted pressed a kiss to her temple, lingering a little while longer. She smiled at his touch and exhaled letting all stress leave her body, a few tears escaped down her cheeks in pure relief.
“Thank you, you’re always too kind to me Ted.” Andromeda touched his cheek affectionately and brushed her lips against his. Ted responded in kind and deepened the kiss. But before passion had brought them ‘too far’ a footstep in the corridor outside terminated it. Andromeda giggled at Ted’s embarrassed expression, and he removed himself from over her body,
“We need to get our own place,” Ted mumbled, and Andromeda grinned at his flustered face,
“Ever heard of a silence spell?”
“It feels so weird to make-out when my parents are only a few feet away.” Ted grimaced and Andromeda chuckled,
“Pish posh.”
“Hey, I wasn’t the one embarrassed earlier when I sat too close to you in the sofa.”
“They were in the room, Ted!”
“Potato, potata…” Ted smirked, and Andromeda sighed at him dramatically,
“Well, I’m tired, so good night, Ted! Make sure our bodies don’t interfere with each other should your mother come in.”
Ted pushed at her playfully,
“Minx!”
“Good night, Ted.” Andromeda smiled.
“Good night, love.” Ted kissed her over the shoulder before lying down properly in bed, and it weren’t long till they both were sound asleep.

Already? Isn’t he five?” She joked, “I remember when he peed in my pool!”

“How can you eat dad? We haven’t even opened the gifts yet!”

Andromeda and Ted found themselves alone, cuddled up in bed in their new night-wear (a gift from Ted’s mother).

Andromeda shrugged her shoulders, “I mean Dumbledore’s gay, so I took the second best.”

“Your back isn’t ugly, Dromeda. Scars are just memories, they’re a part of you.”

“Oh, I already asked Elizabeth…” Ted said, and Andromeda closed her eyes, feeling the anger rise, “What!?” She growled, and Ted burst out laughing, “I’m just joking.

“I don’t care. I love you. We’ll solve any such problem when the time comes. If we have a baby, then that’s a lovely blessing, but if not, I’ll be more than happy anyway. Don’t feel pressured. I’m not like them.”

“We need to get our own place,” Ted mumbled, and Andromeda grinned at his flustered face, "Ever heard of a silence spell?”
Ooooooooooh! ♥ Undrar när ... ♥♥♥

Chapter 64
Andromeda and Ted had found a lovely cottage in the county of Hertfordshire, just outside of Watford which was rather close to London. They had managed to pay for it by themselves since Andromeda had a rather great fortune which was once her dowry. It felt somewhat as sweet revenge when Andromeda used some of that money to buy a muggle cottage in a muggle village with her muggleborn fiancé. Mary and Fred had been sad to see them go so soon after christmas, but nevertheless understood the need of privacy for the young couple.
It was still rather empty of furniture, and had only the essentials, but Andromeda adored her new home immensely already and the lovely garden that belonged to it especially the pond on the frontside of the house.
At the current moment Andromeda was standing in the kitchen, preparing tea when an owl came knocking at the window. With a big smile plastered over her face she let the owl inside.
“Merlin! I thought I’d never see you again.” She gave the owl a gentle pat and Merlin hooted at her calmly before he lifted his foot to be relieved of his burden. Andromeda tied the small parchment off his leg and rolled it open to read the content.
“Dearest Andromeda…
Ah screw it, mother isn’t here to supervise me anyway.
Wotcher Andy!
I am very upset you didn’t tell me you were leaving! I would have come too! I hope you have a spare bedroom at your new place. Otherwise, Ted must go. Sorry, not sorry.
Anyway, I wasn’t very shocked to learn from Uncle Alphard that you had left, all though it made me rather… urgh, sad. I mean who ever will appreciate my jokes, and my lovely person? – Bellatrix sure has changed… you’d probably be able to cheer her up. She was married off to Rodolphus last week. He doesn’t treat her well. They pretend, but I noticed the bruises. She got furious when I mentioned them. So now I got a bruise from mother. Yay, I love family gatherings… not.
I just snuck up to your old room, they still haven’t moved much in here. It’s actually quite dusty, they probably think they’re going to catch some kind of germ if they went in here. I hate them. I’m going back to Hogwarts tomorrow though, thank Merlin. I miss my friends. But getting away from the point. I came in here, saw Merlin, and thought you might want him back. He is yours after all, and he pretty much hates everyone else. He bit me thrice when I tried to pet him.
I miss you Andy, I’m not really supposed to write you so don’t write back until I’m safe at Hogwarts. When can I come live with you?
Dying over here,
your favourite cousin, Sirius.

Andromeda dried away the tears that had trailed down her cheeks as she read the letter from her young cousin. Her heart clenched at his misery, and she truly wished there was a way for her to relieve him from his abusive situation. But until he was a bit older, she could do naught but sneak away encouraging words and meet him in secret. She rolled the note up again, tucking it away safely in her pocket, before tending to Merlin again.
The owl was very grateful of the treats he was given, and the water he received after his journey. Andromeda thought of the faces her family would wear when they realised the owl was gone. She chuckled to herself before removing the whistling tea pot from the stove.
Ted entered the kitchens, and immediately placed a kiss on her red lips, keeping his arms wrapped around her. Andromeda smiled a bit half-heartened up at Ted, and he frowned at her, kissing her nose,
“Is something the matter?”
“No, well, Sirius sent me a letter with Merlin.” Andromeda began and Ted beamed,
“Then you got your owl back, at least. I suspect the letter is what made you feel down.”
Andromeda put on a brave smile,
“I admit it did. Sirius just hadn’t written until now. I thought he was doing better than he is. But at least he’s on his way back to Hogwarts, where he’ll be safe from our wicked family.”
Ted rested his forehead against Andromeda’s nodding slightly,
“If we could, we’d take him in. But as of now, we can’t because of the law.”
“Yeah, fuck it.”
“Language, Dromeda.” Ted joked and Andromeda laughed,
“You’re starting to sound just like aunt Walburga.”
Ted looked mock-hurt,
“That might just be the meanest thing you ever said to me!”
Andromeda kissed him hard, lingering a little while longer, before stepping out of his embrace to fill their cups up with steaming hot tea. Ted opened the cupboard and brought down a packet of biscuits and placed them on a plate.
“I can’t wait for the warmth to return so we can enjoy our afternoon tea outside.” Andromeda said as she looked out of the window at the snowy landscape. Ted nodded,
“Ah yes, I long for the sun so my hands won’t freeze off every time I go outside.”
Andromeda laughed at him,
“You’re a wizard, Ted.”
“Oh, thanks. I hadn’t noticed.” Ted said sarcastically, and Andromeda rolled her eyes at him,
“I meant that you can easily warm your hands with blue flames or something like that.”
“Damn it. I hate it when you outsmart me.”
“You must hate a lot then.” Andromeda winked and left the room with the tray, Ted groaned as he stalked after her to their living-room.
“I managed to send the invitations earlier when I was out.” Ted told her as he picked up one of the biscuits, Andromeda smiled,
“Very good of you, Ted. I was afraid you might’ve forgotten.”
“I never forget things.” Ted replied and Andromeda snorted,
“Ted, you so do, all the time. But I love you anyways.”
“Doesn’t hurt you to say it once in a while,” Ted muttered, and Andromeda laughed at him,
“I hope you’re kidding. Because I say it all the time.”
“Well,” Ted began, and Andromeda gave him a piercing look, and he chuckled,
“I’m only joking, Dromeda.”
“Right… anyway, I managed to send word to Uncle Alphard about the upcoming wedding, he said he’d try and sneak away and bring Sirius with him.”
“That’s great. I really hope they can come.” Ted said kindly,
“Yeah, my side is going to look kind of empty otherwise.” Andromeda smiled,
“Maybe we don’t do the side thing?” Ted asked, “I don’t care, but it might look a bit asymmetrical.”
“Mm, let’s not do sides.” Andromeda agreed before taking a sip of her steaming hot cuppa,
“I can’t wait till you’re my wife.” Ted said, his hazel eyes gleaming with love, Andromeda smiled from ear to ear at this,
“Neither can I.”
“And I cannot even begin to tell you how much I long for the wedding…” Ted was interrupted by a cry from Andromeda,
“TED!”
Ted grinned madly at her, winking when she finally looked at him again which made her become an ugly shade of red once more. Ted couldn’t help himself but waved his wand in the direction of the vinyl where he had earlier placed the soundtrack of one Marvin Gaye, “Let’s get it on”. Ted mimed towards Andromeda who refused to look at him, feeling very embarrassed,
“Dromeda come on, I’m joking. It’s hilarious, admit it!”
Andromeda stood up, still refusing to look at Ted and still very red in the face, she then proceeded to leave the room in embarrassment. Ted turned of the music, and looked towards the owl who had been sitting close to the kitchens,
“What did I do?”
Merlin eyed him as haughtily as an owl possibly could, and Ted sighed before standing up to fetch Andromeda back.

Chapter 65

It was yet early on this cold morning of February the fifth, but Ted was already up and bustling in the kitchen. He was covered in flour and the pile of dishes in the sink started to pile up. The pan on the stove was sizzling, and he tried to save the half-burnt pancake. He quickly dried away the sweat that had started to form on his forehead, trying to gallantly flip the pancake. It broke a little but was almost whole and he smiled at his work, turning a blind eye to the mess he had created. He then loaded that pancake onto the plate of his other half-burnt, broken pancakes. Ted drizzled some lemon over the pancakes and a bit of sugar before putting a candle into the pile, it refused to stand quite upright, but Ted didn’t care. He lit the candle and put the plate on the tray where he had sat a vase with a rose in it, a cup of tea, and a small parcel. Thankfully Ted remembered that he hadn’t removed the pan from the stove, and hurried to it, he stopped for a minute thinking if he should clean up before he went up, but then thought nothing more of it and picked up the tray and left for the upstairs.
Ted carefully balanced the tray, making sure he didn’t spill any tea on the wooden floor, the house was still rather quiet, or he suspected, more so since he had stopped his poor attempt at cooking. A floor board creaked under him, and his heart started to beat harder, but he heard no noise from the bedroom, he smirked to himself,
“Thank merlin, she’s a heavy sleeper.”
“I’m not a heavy sleeper.” Andromeda’s voice sounded from behind him, and Ted jumped in the air, dropping the tray on the floor. The tea spluttered everywhere, and the pancakes fell face down. Ted groaned as he turned to meet his fiancée, who wore a rather smug look.
“Why aren’t you in bed?” Ted asked, and Andromeda laughed,
“You think I was able to sleep through all that noise you made downstairs?”
“I suppose that was a long shot.” Ted smiled, but then remembered the mess in front of him, and he sighed, but Andromeda moved past him, wand ready,
“Reparo.”
The cup repaired itself, and she then went on with another few handy cleaning spells, having the floor looking spotless in no time. Ted picked up the tray and plate, and looked at his sad squished pancakes, Andromeda kissed the corner of his mouth, feeling rather sorry for him.
“Happy Birthday, Dromeda.” He said lovingly, “Unfortunately your breakfast was ruined.”
“No matter, Ted, it’s the thought that counts.” Andromeda offered him a sweet kiss, “I’ll have a piece of that anyways.” She added and broke of a small piece of the pancake and put it in her mouth, Ted looked at her with a funny look,
“That’s been on the floor.”
“My floors are clean and besides a little dirt is good for you.” Andromeda winked, “Come on, let’s go downstairs, I’ll help you cook this time.”
“Early December you had never cooked in your life, how are you already better than me?” Ted whined, and Andromeda grinned at him,
“Because I’m slightly more structured than you, and besides it’s a little bit like potions and I love potions.”
“True.” Ted sighed, but then he smiled at her, “Let’s get cooking then!”
They arrived down in the kitchen and Andromeda froze when she saw the mess Ted had been able to create in about an hour.
“I was going to clean up.” Ted began, and Andromeda just stared at the mountain of dishes,
“How did you even use this much dishes?”
“My talent?” Ted smiled innocently, and Andromeda shook her head at him before picking her wand up again, waving it about the kitchen, managing to clean it in under ten minutes. Ted watched intrigued,
“I could never pull that off, I hardly managed to pack my trunk, things just wouldn’t fold.”
“Practice makes perfect, unless you’re a natural.” Andromeda smirked, and Ted rolled his eyes,

A little while later they were snuggled up together on the sofa, having their tea, when Ted remembered the gift that had been left on the floor. Those were one of the moments when it was quite nice to be a wizard, because with a quick flick of the wand the parcel came flying down the stairs.
“You forgot your gift earlier,” Ted explained as he handed it to Andromeda. She looked at it with an excited mien, and carefully unwrapped it. Inside the wrapping paper, and inside the velvet box there was a silver necklace with a pendant - the infinity symbol. Andromeda lit up, and kissed his cheek quickly,
“Thank you so much, it’s so beautiful, Ted!”
“Read the inscription.” Ted urged her and Andromeda turned the pendant around,
“To my eternal love.”
Andromeda teared up, and Ted smiled, proud to have given her something she liked,
“Ted…” Her voice was brittle, “You’re making me all teary!”
“I’m glad you liked it.” Ted squeezed her shoulder, and she leaned in,
“Liked it? – I love it! Will you help me put it on?”
“Of course, I will.” Ted accepted the necklace into his hands and fumbled a little but managed to get the necklace on.
“There,” Ted smiled, and Andromeda touched the pendant that hung around her neck.
“This is the best birthday present I’ve ever been given.” Andromeda told him, and brushed her lips against his, and he smiled against her lips,
“You’re worth all the best the world has to offer.”
“You’re such a suck up.” Andromeda joked, and Ted laughed,
“I love you too. “
“Mm, I’m pretty lovable.” Andromeda retorted with a smirk, and Ted groaned,
“Once in a while, let me win in the battle of words.”
“For you, anything.” Andromeda kissed him tenderly, and Ted responded in kind, but then she pulled away with a teasing look in her eyes,
“Except for that.”
“Damn it, Dromeda!” Ted cried in frustration and she snickered at him,
“It’s too fun seeing you like this.”
Ted stood up and turned his back to her,
“There, now you can’t see my face. Fun’s over, will you let me be?”
Andromeda bit her lip in thought,
“The view is pretty good from behind too, been working out?”
Ted groaned before leaving the room to more profoundly mark his words, Andromeda however watched him leave before she leant over the table to grab the last chocolate biscuit on the plate,
“And so I win again.”

Oj oj ... har du skrivit bröllopskapitlet? Oh my!

They pretend, but I noticed the bruises. She got furious when I mentioned them. So now I got a bruise from mother. Yay, I love family gatherings… not.

Jag ler stort när jag läser: He is yours after all, and he pretty much hates everyone else. He bit me thrice when I tried to pet him.

“What did I do?”
Merlin eyed him as haughtily as an owl possibly could, and Ted sighed before standing up to fetch Andromeda back.

He was covered in flour and the pile of dishes in the sink started to pile up. The pan on the stove was sizzling, and he tried to save the half-burnt pancake

“Because I’m slightly more structured than you, and besides it’s a little bit like potions and I love potions.”
“True.”

“You’re worth all the best the world has to offer.”
“You’re such a suck up.” Andromeda joked, and Ted laughed,
“I love you too. “
“Mm, I’m pretty lovable.” Andromeda retorted with a smirk, and Ted groaned, “Once in a while, let me win in the battle of words.”

Ted stood up and turned his back to her,
“There, now you can’t see my face. Fun’s over, will you let me be?”
Andromeda bit her lip in thought,
[i]“The view is pretty good from behind too, been working out?”

Hihihi!

Ser fram emot bröllopskapitlet ... ♥♥♥

He was covered in flour and the pile of dishes in the sink started to pile up. The pan on the stove was sizzling, and he tried to save the half-burnt pancake

“Because I’m slightly more structured than you, and besides it’s a little bit like potions and I love potions.”

Ted stood up and turned his back to her,
“There, now you can’t see my face. Fun’s over, will you let me be?”
Andromeda bit her lip in thought,
“The view is pretty good from behind too, been working out?”

Här hittar ni bröllopsmusiken om ni som jag är galen i musik;

Chapter 66

Andromeda woke up in bed at the earliest sign of sunlight outside. Something which was a bit out of character since Andromeda wasn’t and had never been an early riser. But today was different, Andromeda smiled to herself, today was her wedding day. For a moment she forgot that Ted wasn’t lying next to her and she panicked before she realised that he was sleeping at his parents to withhold tradition. They had parted ways that evening, and Molly had stayed over with Andromeda to keep her company. Rested and full of energy Andromeda rolled out of bed stumbling a bit over the covers. Nothing could bring her down today. It was with great anticipation and nervousness she once again snuck a peak at her wedding dress hanging on the closet. She run her hand over the lace, feeling the lovely fabric run between her fingers in the vague morning sun from the window, she beamed again. What a lovely spring day to be married upon. Andromeda stretched her body and arched her back then tied a robe around herself before venturing downstairs to try and make some breakfast with her trembling fingers. To Andromeda’s great surprise Molly was already up and about bustling in the kitchen. Andromeda raised an eyebrow and the witch took notice of her entering,
“Good morning, Andy!” Molly greeted her happily, “I thought I’d make you some breakfast, it's after all your wedding day!”
Andromeda couldn’t do naught but smile at that last statement, it felt even more real when someone else said it.
“Good morning, Molly. You are far too kind!”
“Pish posh, Andy, today it’s your day.” Molly smiled back before placing a plate of cauldron cakes, and berries on the kitchen table. The red-haired witch made a gesture signalling to Andromeda that she should sit down, and Andromeda knew better than to refuse Molly Weasley when it came to eating.
“You’re looking rather peckish this morning, you’ll need some fuel not to faint in church.”
“I’m famished much to my surprise, I normally can’t eat when I’m nervous.” Andromeda said with a nervous smile, tucking into the lovely food her friend had prepared for her. Molly sat down at the table with her, digging into a plate of her own.
“How nervous are you? -As nervous as you get for an exam?” Molly joked and Andromeda chuckled,
“Well, exams I can do. Because you can study for them. A marriage not so much.”
“Don’t be nervous, I know its easy for me to say. But think of everything you know about Ted, and love about him. All of that is the knowledge you need to pass the ‘exam’. A marriage is just an affirmation that you love each other and intend to do so for better and for worse for all your life.” Molly said kindly, and Andromeda let out a shaky breath,
“I know, its just all so nerve-wracking, to think that everyone’s eyes are on you, what if you trip? I don’t know if you’ve realised but us Black’s don’t do well with embarrassment.”
Molly laughed and took hold of Andromeda’s hand,
“Trust me when I say that even if you fell down the aisle no one would use that against you. The people there are not there to try and find fault with you but to celebrate your and Ted ‘s love for each other.”
“Thank you, Molly. You are a great friend.” Andromeda told the witch with a gentle smile,
“That’s what friends are for. Now let’s get you into that dress!” Molly squealed excitedly, and Andromeda dropped her fork immediately,
“I thought you’d never say!”

Andromeda never really liked her reflection, it had never mattered that people had said that she was beautiful because she always thought they were exaggerating. Even when Ted told her she looked gorgeous she always thought it was because he was blinded by love. But, for the first time in as long as she could remember, she looked into the reflection and actually thought she was genuinely pretty. The white wedding dress hugged her figure in all the right places, and it wasn’t pompous but rather simple, and elegant.
“It’s really beautiful.” Molly began, “It suits you more than well!”
“Thank you.” Andromeda mumbled, feeling rather emotional because all of a sudden it was so real what was about to happen.
Mary came running up the stairs, having let herself in with Ted’s key, Andromeda turned surprised as the woman gave a delighted cry.
“Oh my goodness me, Andromeda, you look stunning!”
“Thank you, Mary.” Andromeda smiled,
“Oh, Ted will faint when he sees you, actually I think he will anyways. Ted’s completely hyper at the moment.” Mary told the bride who looked very amused at that.
“I can’t pretend I’m not feeling a bit nervous myself.” Andromeda giggled,
“As you should be, because you care. Now are you ready for church?” Mary asked and Andromeda’s heart skipped a beat and she nodded, biting her lip nervously.
“Keep your calm, Andy. You’ll be fine. Concentrate on Ted and try not to get too wind up.” Molly told her friend kindly, giving her back a quick pat.

They arrived at church precisely on time, having travelled a little further. Thankfully the men had managed to arrive earlier and were already stood on their spot inside the church. The sun was shining brightly when Andromeda stepped out of the vehicle with the help of Molly, Mary then handed her the bouquet made with lilies, lavender and white roses. Andromeda exhaled slowly, feeling her nerves rising again. She eyed the church, realising that all of Ted’s family would be there, most of whom she hadn’t met. It did hurt, more than she would ever admit to anyone, that her family wasn’t present. That she wouldn’t share her wedding day with her sisters, cousins and other relatives. Tears stung behind her eyelids, but she pushed them away, she would not let it bring her down, not on her wedding day. Not when she was the happiest, she had ever been with Ted. Mary kissed her cheek, and squeezed her hand tightly, wishing her good luck before venturing in to be seated. Andromeda looked at Molly feeling rather insecure, but Molly just smiled encouraging at her.
“Focus on him.”
“Mm.” Andromeda replied her eyes flickering slightly, trying to get a sneak peak through the church doors. Molly made sure Andromeda’s dress was on right, before positioning herself before Andromeda with her own flowers. Andromeda’s heart was beating hard and quick, and her hands were shaking around the flower bouquet. She wanted to blow up the doors, and just get the entrance over and done with. She hated being the centre of attention, it had never boded well in her childhood. Suddenly she heard that the organ started to play the piece by one Pachelbel, a famous muggle composer. The music was peaceful and romantic, and Molly began walking up the aisle. Andromeda didn’t see anyone before the doors shut in her face again. Now she was all alone in the weapon house. She tried taking deep breaths to calm her butterflies and fought the urge to run. She tried to focus only on Ted and not the other people who she was afraid would judge her before she got to the end of the aisle. What if someone yelled objection? Andromeda’s eyes widened at that thought, shit she hadn’t contemplated that. Before she had time to panic about it, she heard the wedding march begin, and she braced herself. The wooden doors opened to reveal her and everyone in the room was turned towards her. Andromeda held herself up with pride, yet another time when being brought up to always be able to pull that off was quite handy. Her eyes searched for Ted’s and when she found his kind, lovely hazel eyes, she smiled out from ear to ear. Andromeda forgot about everyone else, her eyes never left Ted’s and all nerves was gone, to her it was only them in the room. Ted looked handsome in his black tuxedo, and Andromeda smiled, with the sun dancing in his blonde hair, which for once was combed and styled. Ted on the other hand was mesmerised with how beautiful Andromeda looked. With her dark curls done up, and her lovely white wedding dress, but foremost the lovely, dazzling smile that played her lips all the way up to her gorgeous chocolate eyes. When Andromeda stopped in front of him, and the old vicar gave her hand to Ted, he couldn’t help but smirk down at her and whisper quietly,
“Hello gorgeous, do you come here often?”
“Seriously Ted, you choose that lame chat-up line on our wedding?” Andromeda murmured back with an amused look.
“If the two lovebirds wouldn’t mind bickering later, I would like to get on with the ceremony.” The old vicar mused, and the pair had the decency to blush a little, but the congregation just snickered at the two. Now when Andromeda had Ted’s hands securely wrapped around her hands, she dared to look at the assembled family in the church benches, and suddenly her eyes stopped, and she lit up. There seated on the second row, on the left side, sat her uncle Alphard, Sirius, and, Andromeda almost laughed, Sirius’s best friends from school escorted thither by Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. Andromeda was then so baffled at all the smiling faces of Ted’s whole family, not one was displeased with her as his bride. Not once had her own family agreed on one thing. It was a very pleasant change of ways. Andromeda’s attention was called for again by the Vicar who had stopped his lecture upon the Christian thought of marriage.
“If anyone knows of any reason why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.” The vicar looked at the congregation and Andromeda almost frowned at this question.
“Should we object just to shake things up?” She heard her young cousin whisper to his friends, and Andromeda shot him a glare which he got the meaning of. Sirius then realised that he had gained everyone’s attention and the vicar eyed him with some hilarity.
“Now dear boy, what was it you wanted to object?”
“Eh, nothing. Ted’s fine, he’s not her cousin which was a pleasant surprise to most of us. Um, do your thing and I’ll keep my peace for eternity.” Sirius said feeling the intensity of his cousin’s glare. James, Remus and Peter all tried not to laugh at their friend but to keep a serious face for the sake of the occasion. Ted was clearly trying not to laugh, and the Vicar sensed it was better to quickly move on before things got way out of hand.
“Now, Ted I ask you to repeat after me; I, Ted, take thee Andromeda Cassiopeia Black to be my wedded wife,”
Ted repeated the vicar’s words nervously, afraid of doing a wrong.
The vicar continued,
“To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse.”
Ted stumbled over one or two words but managed fairly well,
“for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health,”
“to love and to cherish, till death do us part.” Ted repeated carefully,
“Now, Andromeda repeat after me. I, Andromeda take thee Edward Frederick Tonks to be my wedded husband…” The vicar told her and she repeated with great carefulness and tenderness the whole vow, all though it didn’t quite make sense to her why she had to promise to obey Ted.
“Rings?” The Vicar asked, and Charles, who had been head boy of Hufflepuff and was one of Ted’s closest friend, moved forwards with the wedding bands. The vicar gave Andromeda Ted’s ring, and Ted Andromeda’s ring. With shaking hands Ted proceeded to slid, the ring on Andromeda’s finger,
“With this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow. In the name of the Father, the son and the Holy Ghost, Amen.”
Andromeda looked into Ted’s safe, hazel eyes, as she with shaking hands slid his ring on his finger, she exhaled slowly, trying to remember the correct words, when Ted started to mime them to her. She beamed and repeated slowly the same vows Ted had said minutes ago.
“Andromeda and Ted, bear witness to the love of God in this world, so that those to whom love is a stranger will find in you good and generous friends. By the power vested in me by God and man, I pronounce you wife and husband. What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.” The Vicar said with great joy, and Ted eyed him with impatience, and the old man laughed,
“You may now kiss the bride.” The vicar announced, and Ted spared no moment to sweep Andromeda down in a loving kiss which had the whole church howling with joy and laughter.
When they were out of breath Ted and Andromeda pulled apart only slightly, and whilst tightly ensconced within his embrace, she touched his cheek, her eyes gleaming of love,
“I love you so much Ted.”
“Not as much as I love you.” Ted replied and Andromeda smirked,
“Don’t you start with me, Ted.”
“You’ve been married for a minute, and you’re already in trouble, lad!” Fred laughed, and Ted’s ear tips turned pink as their family and friends joined in his father’s laughter.
At last the organ started to play the fanfare by Lemmens as their recessional music piece. Molly handed Andromeda her flowers, and she and Ted left the church joined as one.
